Our Nursery

The Nursery Day

At St Joseph’s Nursery we believe that a positive start to education is one of the most important gifts we can give to the children in our care. A good Early Years experience is the first building block to the rest of a child’s education. Our aim is to provide the best possible learning experience for every child in our care.  To do this, we begin by creating a nurturing environment.

The Nursery has two well equipped classrooms, Butterfly Class and Ladybird Class. There is a large adventure playground at the front of the Nursery and a sensory garden at the back. The children have access to both areas every day.

The Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, and this learning happens
through child and adult led activities, around your child’s interests. Within our classrooms and outside areas, the seven areas of learning are implemented through play based activities. The child’s Key Person will find out what they already know and plan activities to support and develop their learning.
