Curriculum Overview

Our Curriculum Approach at St Joseph's

The intent of our curriculum is to deliver a broad and varied body of knowledge that progresses children's skills and understanding. The curriculum is an agreed consensus between the staff; it is a planned and sequenced logical progression, designed to meet the needs of all children and aims to encapsulate the children's experience of The Way, The Truth, The Life at St Joseph's.

By clicking the following links, you will see an overview of each year groups’ carefully considered curriculum. Each year group adapts their curriculum regularly to ensure the best outcomes for that year’s cohort. The EYFS curriculum in particular will focus on the children’s interests and what helps them to build a solid foundation of learning.

Within each overview, links can be found to the National Curriculum for each subject, as well as any other useful documents and websites. You will also find further tabs giving you more in depth information about our core subjects: English, Mathematics and Religious Education. The Mathematics page is particularly useful if you are looking to see what methods your child will be using in class.

Alongside these overviews, all pupils have access to Google Classroom throughout the school year, which is a secure platform used to celebrate learning, give notices and reminders and set homework. Each pupil will have a username and password, shared by the class teachers. If parents/carers have any questions about accessing the Google Classrooms, please speak to the class teacher.

If you have any questions or would like to find out more about your child’s curriculum, please contact one of our curriculum leaders who will be happy to help.
