Enrichment
At St Joseph's, we are extremely proud of the long-standing commitment we make to enriching our children's curriculum experience. Our vision is that every child will come to discern the unique gifts and talents that God has bestowed on them and choose to use these to help build his Kingdom for the common good.

Music, Performance & Public Speaking
From Nursery onwards, all children have regular opportunities to engage in musical performance and public speaking – developing their confidence and understanding of these skills year-on-year – culminating in a Year 6 Leavers' Production at the end of the primary school journey.

Sporting Competition
Sporting competition forms an ongoing part of every child's experience, within their PE lessons and across our annual Sports Day events, starting in Nursery and extending throughout every child's time at school. Alongside this, every child has the opportunity to try out for representation roles, including football, netball and cross-country teams as well as the Junior Swimming Gala and District Sports.

Experiences, Visits & Visitors
We ensure every Year Team's curriculum is populated with regular and inspiring opportunities to learn from experiences, visits and visitors where every child can participate. These include theatrical events, museum trips, local area exploration, visiting experts and residential overnight stays. Our offer is constantly evolving and adapting in response to the impact on our children and the cost to our families.

Careers, Citizenship & Fundraising
Through weekly Gospel themes, we focus on the values and virtues of authentic Catholic life – from Catholic Social Teaching principles to Fundamental British Values. We explore examples of people who have demonstrated these positive habits in their own lives and share examples of careers that require these skills. Children then have frequent opportunities to enact these values and virtues through their words and actions around the school and their engagement in our regular fundraising initiatives.

Health & Wellbeing
At the heart of our approach to education is the understanding that children need to be happy, healthy and ready to learn. We take our children's health and wellbeing very seriously and make time to talk about these important themes, as well as strategically implementing systems to support them. Our breaktime snack rule is "Fruit or Veg Only" – nothing in a packet or a wrapper. We won't allow any child to bring a Smartphone to school – it's not in the best interest of their health or wellbeing.

Active Play
Our children work extremely hard during their lessons and we aim to ensure that their playtimes are equally rewarding and enriching. We deliver a model of morning break time called Active Play, where generous staffing ensures a wide variety of play-based opportunities can be modelled and supervised in a way that develops children's appreciation and engagement in healthy play and recreation.
